MameNotes Privacy Policy

This document separately describes how information is handled by the MameNotes app, in support emails to its developer, Yunaledge, and on this website.

Collection and transmission by the app

MameNotes itself does not transmit note contents, usage activity or device identifiers to the developer or third-party servers. It has no advertising, analytics, proprietary crash reporting, account registration or third-party SDKs.

Information stored on your Mac and its purpose

• UTF-8 text notes are saved in your chosen folder or save location.
• Temporary files in your notes folder help protect edits. They are separate from saving a note and cannot guarantee recovery in every situation.
• macOS app preferences hold appearance, ruled-line and folder settings, setup and migration state, window position and size, file-permission bookmarks, and unsaved-note recovery records.
• The app reads file names, opening text previews, modification dates and sizes to display and update the notes list.
• File locations are passed to macOS recent-document services so you can reopen recently used notes.

This information supports editing, display, settings, file access and recovery. The app does not use it for tracking or advertising.

Control and deletion

You can view, move, copy and delete saved notes in Finder. Completing a close with Don’t Save deletes a new temporary note or the recovery copy of edits. An existing note retains its last saved contents. Cancelling while closing several tabs keeps changes that have not yet been saved. Recovery records are also retained if the app lacks permission to access their files.

Deleting the app does not automatically delete notes in your chosen location. Keep independent backups of important notes, for example with Time Machine.

Operating-system and cloud services

If you choose a folder synced by iCloud Drive or another service, macOS or that service may sync notes and temporary files. Operating-system backups and diagnostics, and App Store purchase information, are governed by their providers’ settings and policies. These activities are separate from transmission by MameNotes itself.

Support email

Contact details, message contents, attachments and other information you choose to provide by email are used to answer your request and investigate the reported issue. Do not send note contents or confidential information unless necessary. The app does not automatically attach or send your notes or logs.

Email is handled separately from the app through the providers used to send and receive it.

Browsing this website

This website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. To deliver pages and help operate the website securely, Cloudflare may process technical information about connections and devices, such as IP addresses. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for more information.

The operator has not added advertising or analytics scripts, embedded external content, or contact forms to these pages. However, Cloudflare’s delivery configuration may cause your browser to send diagnostic information, such as network failures, to Cloudflare.
